Wagoner Hospital Offers Reclast Infusion

By Staff, Muskogee Phoenix.

(November 17, 2008)  Wagoner Community Hospital has been approved as a Reclast infusion site. Reclast injection has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration as the only once-yearly medicine for postmenopausal osteoporosis.

Unlike traditional oral therapies that have to be taken daily, weekly or monthly, Reclast is given as a once-yearly 15-minute intravenous infusion. One annual IV dose, along with daily calcium and vitamin D, helps to protect and strengthen bones from fracture for a year.

Treatment takes at least 15 minutes and is given by a nurse. With Reclast, the patient does not have to wait to eat or remain upright for a half-hour or more.

Talk to your doctor to find out if Reclast is right for you. Information: www.reclast.com.
